So you wanna know about me huh? Well thanks for asking. So what would you like to know? I suppose I could start off by telling you how I got to Southwest Florida. I was born in 1970 something in Des Moines, IA (honest to god there are more then cows in Iowa) and lived there through my freshman year of college. I came to Fort Myers in 1997 and attended FGCU where I have a BA in Interdisciplinary Social Science from. In 2000 I moved to Nashville, TN (Which I was NOT a fan of). After spending two years in the “south” I moved to Colorado Springs, CO. What an amazing place to live. Finally, in 2006 I moved back to Southwest Florida to be closer to my family.
So what else would you like to know? I suppose I could tell you that I am one of the biggest chameleons in the world. What does that mean? It means you might see me sporting an Armani suit at a swanky restaurant one night enjoying a bottle of wine that some might say is STUPID expensive. The next night you may see me in Naples at a club sporting a pair of Lucky’s and a Ted Baker shirt. For that matter you might even see me at a hip hop show one night, and guess what? I will look like I belong.
Music is another one of my passions. In the past couple of months I’ve bounced around the country to see everyone from James Blunt to Jay-Z to the Fray to Emerson Hart to Matt Nathanson to 3 Days Grace to Matchbox Twenty in concert.
On the weekends you will find me either sitting by a pool or checking out a new food or wine hot spot. You can check out the list of my favorite restaurants around the country below.
So you’re saying to yourself, “Chad, you say you like food and wine, so where should I eat in Southwest Florida?” I’m glad you asked, here’s what I like:
Bistro 41 in the Bell Tower. If you have company in from out of town, especially the kind of company that may not be into eclectic cuisine, then this is the place to take them. Bistro has a great selection of food and wine that will please anyone. It’s bound to be an experience and I promise Cindie, Michelle and the gang will take great care of you.

H2 Tapas and Wine Bar Downtown. When I am in the mood for a nice glace of wine after work and don't have the patience to drive south, H2 is MY PLACE! The bartenders always ask your name and the service couldn't be better. If you know what you are looking for, they have some great wines by the glass, and if you are real picky and ready to do it right they can even show you the full bottle list from Harolds next store. They offer a variety of Tapas, and if you LOVE SPICE check out the Spicy Crab Wontons. YUMMY.
The Grape at Coconut Pointe. This is one of my favorite new “hip hangouts”. The wine list here is just MASSIVE and the food is delicious! There is no better place in Southwest Florida then The Grape to sit outside, enjoy a few glasses of wine, and listen to the sounds of their outside performer singing Sinatra.
Café Lurcat on 5th Ave in Naples. If you are looking for a fancy date restaurant then this is your place. The atmosphere at Café Lurcat is great, especially when you look up and see a Chagall inspired ceiling mural or you sit outside on the patio and watch people pass below you on 5th. The food and the wine list are simply to die for.
Traveling? Let me offer a few of my favorite places around the country.
