CHARLOTTE COUNTY
Charlotte County announced that there were more than 2,000 sea turtle nests across the county during the most recent sea turtle nesting season.
The county counted a total of 2,020 nests, with 1,091 on Manasota Key. There were 686 on Palm Island, Knight Island, and Don Pedro. The county said Boca Grande had 243 nests.

Charlotte County thanked its parks and recreation department and coastal volunteers for their hard work during the nesting season.
According to the Florida State Parks Department, sea turtle nesting season lasts from March through October every year.
