A seventh-grade student at Mid Cape Global Academy has been arrested after allegedly posting a school threat to TikTok.
According to a press release from the Cape Coral Police Department, a school resource officer was made aware about the threat at the school on Tuesday.
Police said the commenter was a 13-year-old student at the school. He wrote, “Imma shot the school up on 3.08.23.”
Cape Coral police went to his home address, where the student denied posting the comment, but he later admitted he had, ” but he was only kidding.”
The student faces a charge of written or electronic threats to kill or conduct a mass shooting.
