Early Sunday morning while in the middle of a traffic stop on I-75 in Naples, a car crashed into a Florida Highway Patrol vehicle and fled the scene.
According to FHP, the trooper suffered minor injuries from the hit and run occurring just before 2 a.m. at mile marker 102 on I-75.
The trooper’s FHP vehicle was stopped on the north paved shoulder of the road with the emergency lights activated. A dark-colored sedan went into the paved shoulder crashing into the FHP car.
After the crash, the dark-colored sedan kept driving north on I-75.
The hit-and-run crash remains under investigation.
