Collier County Sheriff’s Office hosts training to stop human trafficking

COLLIER COUNTY

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office hosted a targeted training to stop human trafficking in Collier County and beyond.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office hosted the training for law enforcement and key stakeholders at Florida SouthWestern’s Collier County campus.

Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said the community-based program brings awareness to human trafficking and, more importantly, how to report and stop it.

“We are providing that kind of training specifically to law enforcement here. And our company, we provide this type of training to law enforcement agencies all across the country. And what consistently happens every time after the training, sometimes within less than 24 hours, is that we hear back from the officers who have these newfound skills and use them,” said Alison Phillips, co-founder of the Human Trafficking Training Center

From the feedback given so far, Sheriff Rambosk said this is a terrific program, and the sheriff’s office will continue its commitment in Collier County to fight human trafficking and work to expand the training into more of Southwest Florida.
