Detecitves handing out flyers in renewed push to find missing man Porter Albert

FORT MYERS

There is a renewed plea to get the word out about a man who disappeared three years ago. Porter Albert was last seen in a North Fort Myers parking lot along Cleveland Avenue.

On Friday, detectives handed out flyers hoping to spark someone’s memory and get new information about the case.

For Albert’s loved ones and for anyone who knew him, not knowing what happened to him is hard to handle.

“There’s a big void in my life today without him here,” said Jim Domalik, Albert’s best friend.

“If someone dies, it’s ok because they’re back with God. But to have them floating in space, you know, not knowing,” said Diane Albert Hall, Albert’s ex-wife.

Fort Myers police officers worked the 3,000 block of Cleveland Avenue, passing out flyers in an area Albert was known to frequent.

In addition to Albert, the flyer features a picture of Tiffany Contestable.

“Yeah, civilly. Contestable has been deceitful from day one with this investigation. And I am 100% sure that she has some sort of involvement with his disappearance,” said Fort Myers Police Detective Vincent Doyle.

Detectives questioned Contestable in the days after Albert’s disappearance after they learned she was still driving his car.

Police believe Albert helped Contestable get through some tough times.

“This is an individual who helped Tiffany, and her mother get from living in the woods to having a residence of their own,” said Doyle.

Contestable has now moved to Arkansas and changed her name.

“I couldn’t imagine because he did so much for that family, for you know, the mother and the daughter,” said Domalik.

“From what friends and family have described him, very kind individual that would give the last dollar in his pocket to someone who needed it on the street. And I tell that same story over and over again because that’s how kind he was. And I’m hoping that somebody will remember his kindness,” Doyle said.

If you have any information regarding Albert’s disappearance, you can contact Fort Myers police or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
